COURSE REQUIREMENTSThis class is for the working actor, or the actor new to the industry who is eager to discover their natural sound and begin to explore 2 essential dialects for actors: Received Pronunciation (RP) & General American (GenAm).

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This class is for the actor who wishes to explore the craft of adding dialect to their performance in order to create fuller, more engaging characters.

By exploring the mechanics of sound and understanding how Dialect informs character, Actors will learn the tools that will enable them to navigate away from their natural dialect and acquire new accents. This course is focused on establishing the building blocks of dialect work, with a particular emphasis on two of the more frequently called upon accents for performers working in Canada today, Received Pronunciation (RP) & General American (GenAm).
